For most of my life, I've been looking for my purpose. It's something that has driven me and inspired me for years, but it wasn't until recently that I realized how to find it: by figuring out what matters most to you in life and working toward bringing those things into the world. If you're like me and have always had questions about your purpose (or lack thereof), let's get started!

Reevaluate your priorities

To start, it’s important to take a good look at your life. What does it look like now? How would you like it to be in five years? Ten years? Twenty years from now?

Ask yourself what your priorities are and where you want to be in the next few years, not just for yourself but also for those around you. What are the things that make up your ultimate purpose in life—the things that give meaning and value to every day. Are there people who inspire you and help motivate you when times get tough; or do they drag down your motivation because they’re negative thinkers who just want to complain about everything all the time, no matter what!

Take note of these things because they will help guide the direction of finding out what makes up true happiness and fulfillment in life, so if something doesn't seem right then maybe try another path before giving up completely on this journey by giving up entirely on finding purpose (which I'm sure no one wants).

Make a list of the things you love

Making a list of the things you love is an important step in finding your purpose. You can think about what makes you happy and feel good about yourself, as well as what makes you feel confident and excited. For example, if one thing makes me happy is playing the guitar, another might be eating ice cream.

It's also helpful to think about what activities or foods make up some of your happiest memories from childhood. These are things that we might not even realize were connected to our happiness until we actually think about it! You may start thinking about other ways those activities could connect back up with adulthood happiness too (like maybe playing guitar helps keep my head clear during stressful times).

Make a list of the things that make you feel confident and good about yourself

This is a really important step. We often think about the things that make us feel bad about ourselves, or the times when we didn't do as well as we would have liked. But it's equally important to focus on all of the positive things in our lives and our achievements because these are what will help us find purpose and meaning in our lives.

  • Make a list of all the things that make you feel confident and good about yourself, whether they are big or small.
  • Think back to any time when you've achieved something great, where someone has told you how proud they were of your work, or even times when people have said nice things about you (even if those comments weren't true).

Make a list of the things you're good at

Now that you know what's important to you, it's time to think about the skills and talents that are important to you. This means: What do you love doing? What brings you the most joy? What makes me feel good about myself when I do it? Start with a list of everything that comes to mind for each question above. Don't worry about whether or not these things are related or could work together—we'll get there in a minute!

Once your lists are complete, look over them and see if there's anything obvious missing from either of them. If so, add those items. Then compare both lists together in an effort to find commonalities between them by asking yourself questions such as: What would happen if one person was good at everything on their list? Or another person's list? The answers might surprise you!

Finding your purpose means figuring out what is most important to you in life

Finding your purpose means figuring out what is most important to you in life. This is a bit of an abstract concept, but when you truly find your purpose, it will feel like a very clear-cut idea of what you want to do with yourself and how you want the rest of your life to be. It may not look exactly how you thought it would when starting out on this journey, but that’s okay!

When figuring out what is most important to them, people often try to align their actions with the expectations set by society or their peers. For example: if someone wants children but has been told by others that having kids isn't important or worth their time right now (maybe because they think it's too soon) then they might opt not go after that life goal for fear of backlash from friends or co-workers who don't agree with their choice. However this isn't necessary! We are all unique individuals who have different perspectives on what makes our lives meaningful—and there's no wrong reason why someone chooses one thing over another! So even if something seems "weird" or "unusual" at first glance don't let other people's opinions dictate whether something matters enough for you to pursue  it--find out why YOU think it matters before questioning yourself too much about whether it does."

Hopefully, the tips in this post have helped you get started on your journey to find your purpose. If it seems daunting at first, don’t worry—that’s normal! Just remember that every step forward is a step closer to what matters most in life. Keep going and don’t give up until you discover what makes your heart sing.
