In today’s world, it’s easy to get swept up in the day-to-day grind. Work seems to be taking over more of our lives than ever before. And we often don't even realize how much time we're spending at work because technology allows us to be constantly connected and answer emails from anywhere.

But even though it can be hard, it is important that we take care of ourselves and find a balance between work and life. It's easy for me to say this since I am not working full time anymore, but I am still friends with many people who are working full time jobs or have one part-time job on top of another part-time job (which is called moonlighting). So what do they do? Here are some tips that might help you find some balance in your life!

Make a regular schedule for yourself

Making a regular schedule is one of the most effective ways to ensure you’re able to find balance between work, life, family and exercise. If you don’t make time for yourself or your loved ones, then it can be easy to lose sight of what matters most in life.

In addition to scheduling your work hours, you should also schedule times for family and other activities. For example, Mondays might be dedicated to exercising while Tuesdays could be used for working out with friends at the gym or taking an art class. Allocating specific days for certain activities helps keep things organized and makes sure nothing gets missed!

You should also set aside some time each day specifically for yourself; this could include reading a book or doing something fun after dinner such as watching Netflix together as a family unit before bedtime when everyone is ready but still awake enough not too fall asleep on the couch right away :)

Find ways to feel close to your family and friends even when you can't see them

You can use technology to help you stay in touch with the people you love and care about. Try using apps like FaceTime, Skype, WhatsApp, social media, email and instant messaging.

You can also try sharing photos and videos of your loved ones on social media as well as sending short updates or reminders through email. To chat with friends and family members who live far away from you—and share photos/videos at the same time—use instant messaging services like WhatsApp.

Take breaks during work hours to relax and refuel, but make sure they aren't too long

How long is too long? It's hard to say exactly how long it takes for your brain to start feeling drained when you're doing work. Some people can go for hours without needing a break, whereas others will experience fatigue much sooner. As a general rule of thumb, if you notice that you're getting tired after about two hours of continuous focus on your task (or less if it's particularly mentally taxing), consider taking a 10-minute break from whatever project you're working on at the time. If this doesn't help at all, try increasing the amount of time spent relaxing until it does seem like enough of a break for now; then reassess in another few weeks or months and see if it still feels like enough for now then as well! Just remember that no matter how much time off seems right now, there may always be moments where more rest is needed - so don't be afraid to ask others around yourself what they think might be best too!

How often should I take breaks? Ideally every 90 minutes or so would be ideal - though again this depends heavily upon individual needs! You'll know better than anyone else what works best for keeping energy high throughout each day because after all - nobody knows better than ourselves when we need rest.

Don't do anything that makes you unhappy

  • Don’t feel guilty about doing the things that make you happy.

  • And don't waste your life by doing things that don't make sense or bring value to anyone else's life, including yours!

Know the signs of burnout

When you're feeling tired, it can be hard to remember that feeling like you're going through the motions of your day is not normal. If you feel like this for more than a week or so, chances are that you're experiencing burnout.

Some signs of burnout include:

  • Feeling tired all the time

  • Not being able to concentrate on anything for long periods of time

  • Making mistakes more often than usual (at work or in other areas of life)

  • Not being able to relax or focus on things outside of work because all you can think about is how much needs to be done at work; when will it end?

If any of these sound familiar—or if they've been part of your daily routine for a while—it may be time to step back and take a look at what's causing your energy levels (and emotions) to plummet.

Eat something good every day

One of the best things you can do for yourself is to eat a balanced diet. You should eat a variety of foods, as well as a healthy amount of each food group (fruits, vegetables, grains and protein). This will help ensure that you get all the vitamins and minerals your body needs.

Unfortunately, many people don’t pay attention to this aspect of their routine. Many Americans tend to eat more junk food than healthy meals throughout the day! In addition to this problem, some people tend not to eat enough during the day because they are so busy at work or doing other things around their house—and that’s why it’s important not to skip any meals!

The best way for me personally was just having snacks available at home whenever I needed them (fruit or vegetable sticks) so if I got hungry while studying in my room before bedtime then I didn't have any excuse not eating something good before going up stairs again :)

Don't be afraid to ask for help

Don't be afraid to ask for help. If you have a big project at work and it's stressing you out, don't hesitate to ask a colleague or friend if they'd be willing to take some of the burden off your shoulders. This is especially important if the person is good at what they do and can help alleviate some of your stress by taking on some of those responsibilities for themselves.

You shouldn't feel bad about asking for help from others; in fact, it's often better than trying to do everything yourself when things get overwhelming!

Good balance between work and life starts with knowing what's healthy for you

Knowing what's healthy for you, your family, friends and community will help you find a balance between work and life.

Healthy food nourishes your body, mind and spirit. Eating well makes us feel good so we can be productive at work and happy outside of it.

Exercise keeps our bodies strong so we don't get sick as often or get injured easily if something happens on the job site or on the playground with kids. It also helps us sleep better at night because exercise makes our brains release endorphins (the feel-good hormone) that help regulate moods while helping us sleep through the night without waking up in pain or feeling anxious about getting back into bed again after only four hours of restful sleep!

A clean environment allows us to breathe easier which reduces stress levels throughout each day since breathing is a subconscious activity that happens even when we're asleep!

We all want to be happy, but it can be hard to know how to get there. It's important that you find a balance between work and life that works for you—not just for anyone else. If this article helped you understand your needs better and find a solution that allows both sides of your brain (and heart) to thrive, then great!
