Quote of the day: “You can not lead if you do not read.”
Reading is something that surprisingly only the top 1% of the world do. We would think that the phrase we all know “success leaves clues” would cause us to imitate what the “most successful” people do, but that’s not the case.
Why is it that? I’ve always wondered why I didn’t read more…here are some of the reasons why I believe people don’t read like they should.
We’re all busy, but somehow the busiest people in the world seem to read the most. I can’t talk much, because I was like everyone else in the world when it came to reading books.
The average person reads 1 book a year! Honestly, I can truthfully say I was below the average for many years. So don’t think I don’t understand, I do more than most!
But, for some reason, enough was enough. I knew all the people I watched on YouTube or saw on social media that I wanted to be like, all were reading something.
I was at a place in my life where I wanted to grow, and I thought there is no better place to start…so I did! Now after two years, with one-off year in between due to life circumstances, I’m on pace to read 50 books by the end of the year!
Crazy right! You're probably wondering how in the world do you go from 0 books a year to over 50 in 2 years!? It’s actually quite simple, but more than that it was astonishing how much I learned.
My goal with this weekly newsletter is to provide you with key ‘gems’ that I’m taking from these books as well as lessons I’ve learned over my life as a professional athlete and businessman.
I look forward to being an outlet for you to utilize to get your daily reading in haha, as well as challenge you to keep growing yourself every single week!
Knowing is not enough, you must apply. Willing is not enough, you must do.
